Music Together Kindred Voices Class and Center Policies
TUITION / REFUND POLICY
A credit card is required during registration to save your spot in class and will be charged the appropriate tuition amount once you have received your class materials (Music Download Code or Songbook and CD). Payments made for tuition are non-refundable.
REGISTRATION
Music Together is designed to be a full semester experience instead of a class by class program. Because of this, it is our center's policy to close registration after the 2nd week of every semester. This ensures that each and every family can get the most out of their experience with us. We appreciate your understanding.
We know life is busy and things pop up so to help with this, enrolled families are invited to attend other scheduled classes during the semester to make up classes that they have missed. Please email us at mtkindredvoices@gmail.com to check on weekly class availability and to schedule a make-up.
CLASS SIZE
Class size is normally a minimum of six and a maximum of twelve families. Exceptions may be made in unusual circumstances at the discretion of the director, and occasionally make-ups may contribute to more than twelve families per class.
CLASS CANCELLATIONS
We make every effort to keep our class schedules on track. However, sometimes there will be unexpected cancellations at the discretion of the director and in those circumstances, a makeup class will be arranged and offered. In addition, in cases of dangerous or severe weather, classes may be cancelled at the discretion of the director and you will be notified the day before. Every effort will be made to offer a makeup. In the event of natural disaster or community crisis requiring the closure of our center, we will make every attempt to offer make up classes, but will not refund classes that are cancelled for reasons beyond our control.
Play your CD and digital download at home and in the car as frequently as possible, especially during the first few weeks of class. Make it available for your child to listen to while she/he is playing, riding in the car, and before nap or bedtime. At bedtime, nap time, or play time try using the songbook instead of a regular book and sing the songs. New parents will receive the booklet “Music and Your Child, a guide for parents and caregivers.” It will help you and your child get the most out of the program and enhance your classroom experience.
We welcome children ages birth through age 5 to register for classes. Tuition is charged once per family and siblings are always free. All children must be registered.
Liquids are fine to have in class (water bottles, “no-spill” sippy cups, or regular bottles). However, please respect our studio (as well as those with food allergies) by keeping food out of the classroom. It’s hard to sing and eat at the same time! If a snack is required, please feel free to excuse yourself from class for a bit and step out into the front lobby. Also, please avoid chewing gum during class.
Please be sure to sanitize your hands before and after class to help keep our environment as free of germs as possible! Please do not bring yourself or your child to class if anyone has a contagious illness. The rule with fevers: you and your child must be free of a fever for 24 HOURS without using a fever reducer medicine before you can return to weekly classes. And remember! Makeups are available so be safe and take care of yourself and your little ones.
Please be mindful of not talking when you are in class. Please communicate with each other by singing whenever possible. Remember that your child is SO connected to you, that if you are talking they want to hear your words, and then they are not able to even hear the music that is going on in class. Plus it can be distracting for other families. I need your help to keep this a safe, fun, and musical time for everyone.
Although children are allowed and encouraged to move freely during class, we depend on each parent/caregiver to supervise each child(ren)’s activity so accidents do not occur. Running is always a challenging issue – many children love to run in class, as it is their natural response to the music, yet running can also lead to big injuries – so we have a strict "no running" policy in our classes. We encourage children to dance, walk, hop, and boogy but never run. If running becomes an issue during class, we ask that you step out to the lobby to redirect your child(ren)'s energy. And don't worry! We all help each other.
Occasionally, Music Together Kindred Voices may take recordings, photographs, videos, or films of its programs and of the children participating in its programs. These materials may be used for educational, training, or promotional purposes. By registering for and participating in classes at our center, you consent to your and your child(ren)'s inclusion in these materials. No names of children or adults will be used without additional consent. You may opt out at any time by emailing the director at mtkindredvoices@gmail.com.
A parent or adult caregiver is required to be present at all times with each child participating in classes at Music Together Kindred Voices. We have worked very hard to provide a safe environment for you and your family. Therefore, by participating in classes, families agree to release Music Together Kindred Voices and all teachers, staff, and affiliated persons from liability for any damages or injury sustained from participation in classes either before, during or after classes. Families further agree that no claims of any kind or nature will be brought against Music Together Kindred Voices or their agents as a result of injuries, illness or damages that I, my child-participants, or any accompanying party may suffer while on the premises of Higher Voice Studio, whether such claims are known, unknown or may arise in the future. Music Together Kindred Voices is not responsible for any damage done to vehicles or items stolen from vehicles.
